I didn't celebrate the day for years after leaving Europe but over the past decade it is again a big holiday for me. I didn't think I would be doing much but ended up going to three different Thanksgiving dinners. One at 1p, one at 3 and one at 7p
This year my eldest son had it at 7:30p for a change. He had been working all day and was so tired and it was so great to see him.
What I like about the holiday is that I am starting to connect more with extended family than ever before. I went for a long time being pretty isolated.
The first two dinners were with my daughter in law at two different in-laws houses.
Her husband is in Iraq now and will be there for at least a year. The support was something really good for her and her children.
We had fun!
