you are a great parent. you sound so incredibly loving.
what happened to you when your son was 6 mths old and so very ill is so cruel & heartless. you poor thing. im glad you are more at peace with it all now - your son sounds gorgeous.
way back when i was in TF & living in Brisbane we were living with a lovely couple called Abe & Mercy (i think) im pretty sure they were canadian - they had just come out here to australia.
Anyway they had a profoundly deaf little girl & I think she was also cerebal paulsy as well - i remember her name - it was Maggie.
Well they went through hell just like you - other individuals shunned them also - others living in the home we all shared. but this couple loved that baby but were blaming themselves big time. we all know how this familiar story goes. anyway they ended up having to live by themselves. I think (from memory) they ended up leaving and putting their daughter first. but my god, as if they didnt have enough grief on their plates without being treated as lepers & demon possessed.
I was pregnant at the time and i remember mercy being so kind to me & helping me organise myself for the birth of steven. she taught me many things - as i had no idea. i was young - & very naive.
