I can confirm the scenario re MWM shows. In my last years in TF I was back in my home city (Hobart, Tasmania) and managed to get a volunteer braodcasters position on the local public FM station. Along with 'acceptable' system music, I used quite a bit of Family music - including whole MWM shows which were mailed to me from Sri Lanka. The big down side was the time slot I had - 6-9am Sunday morning!!! Hobart has a population of about 150,000, the local public FM station would have had a minute market share, (maybe 1 or 2% at best - it is a niche market afterall), and of these, how many would have been awake and listening to good old public radio on a Sunday morning!
Yet, I can remember in the few reports I actually submitted (I gave up eventually and quietly drifted out of the Family) quoteing many thousands of 'souls reached'. I feel kin of ashamed of it now, but then it was all part of the front - I could justify my 'service' in TF with non-sense stats.
As for litnessing - by then it had become 'junk' mail distribution (never was a term more apt! LOL), as no one, and I mean no one, would buy it!
What a sad waste those years were! 8^(
