Edward Kelley and John Dee

I did some research on the Enochian keys and realized they were derived from a flim flam man from the 1500's named Edward Talbot, later known as Edward KELLEY. He had a follower/cohort named John Dee who became his "skryer" or medium.

They practiced some crystal gazing in which Dee allegedly communicated with angels who gave them the Keys. Aleister Crowley, mentor for LeVey, believed that Edward Kelley was an incarnation or himself.

In their(dee or kelley) speaking with the "angels", the angels told one of them to share his beautiful wife, which he did.

They made a list of good and bad spirits. Their main angels they communicated with were Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, though some went by other names at times.

John Dee was said to have plagierized his stuff from someone else, but the alleged sources of origin never turned up.

Damn, this sounds like the Family!

They also targeted people of power and wealth including royalty with alchemy scams, turning metals to gold but royalty was not so impressed.

Nothing new under the sun.

Another thing that was interesting was how they often prayed to Jesus during all of this revelatory stuff that became the Enochian keys.

Insanity and con games have been around from the beginning. Kelley seemed to be the con man while dee was the psycho/medium.

A common denominator seemed to be a thirst for power and recognition which they got in some measure but much like the family with their photo ops with powerful people, once they were known for who they really were, they were rejected.

One was imprisoned and died there.
