It's not like Hollywood

A lot of people assume testifying in a court case means you'll have a jury of 12, a judge and lawyers, and an audience including reporters and TV cameras, like you see on TV. It doesn't have to be like that.

As one who has been to court several times and won every single case, I have done my share of legal research. I know for a fact that a person can give testimony on the condition their name doesn't get out in public.

Even when you have to testify in front of a judge you can do it "in camera" which actually means the opposite from being on camera.

You won't automatically harm your family with exposure even if you testify in a high-profile case. You can explain that you need to protect them to give some valuable testimony, and that wish would likely be granted. It's not too different from witness protection programs and the courts make provision for that.
