You don't strike me as a jerk and hit the nail on the head by calling it assertiveness. There is a huge difference. I try to be assertive but many times end up being a jerk. I don't shy away from being assertive but I try not to be a jerk.
Jerks are bullies in disguise who decide to take off their customes. Like you, I give little respect to jerks, why would they deserve any from me? They are a bunch of jerks ...or jerkettes!!!
