Ah yes Joey and Maria and the kids from hell. I lived with them in a tiny and i mean tiny apartment in Macau when I first arrived. I thought I would kill Joey, we fought like crazy (virgo) but Maria was a nice person. Four adults and five kids in a shoe box, it was a nightmare. I also remember French Maria (FFer) and her mate Joseph (English). I caught typhoid fever off her. There was also Macanese Julia and her mate (forget his name).
I know Ho was a hard taskmaster but he was only trying to live up to his dad's expectations. I often felt sorry for him. When I arrived 'warning to ho and esther' had just come out and ho was a beaten man. I spent a lot of time with him and saw a gentle side that I'm sure a lot of people didn't see. I'm not excusing him or his behaviour but he was a victim too and very weak when it came to his father. Ruthie wore the pants in that family. Esther was a complete fruit cake and no good to anyone.
There was a big NAF or GAF or whatever at the while I was there too. Keda etc were our 'distinguished guests'.
