Jim, the thot struck me afterwards that you would have thought of the FBI & IRS but that maybe there's nothing they can do. Maybe you're doing what you can because it's the only option left. If so, go for it! At least be sure that you get a film crew in when you confront Tom Hack. Maybe get some local newspaper reporters there too?
Anyway, great detective work! Who'd have thot that TF would be stupid enough to buy a mansion in California where so many exmembers live?
