WHat are you doing to help people in other countries?
How to do sacrifice to save those who need help?
Do you feed the homeless?
Do you visit the sick in hospitals?
Do you visit the old folks and bring them comfort?
Do you Visit orphanages and bring happiness to children?
Do you volunteer your time to build schools, train teachers, gather school ,medical, and sports equipment and materials for the poor countries that cant afford these things?
Do you volunteer your time to go into dangerous areas to rescue those who are oppressed?
What exactly do you do that is so righteous and better than that so you can condemn others?
Still waiting for your answers.

I really hate it when people who seem to be doing so many 'good works' try to make others feel guilty for not. I mean, what the hell, we have freedom of choice in life, and we don't all have to be shining examples of volunteers.
I do my best to be a good person, I help those around me, I give to those who ask of me, I lend advice and a shoulder to cry on to friends who come into my life and need it.
I used to live in a cult, supposedly doing many 'good works', all of which was money and publicity oriented, or just normal run of the day stuff in taking care of kids, doing dishes, cooking, but making myself feel so very very good in that I was 'doing it for the Lord and to win souls'. Baloney!!
Now I do good things because I truly believe they are right to do, and I don't make myself feel guilty for not living the 'missionary' life. I know that if something comes my way, an opportunity for me to help another human being, I'll do it, but I'm not going to run around bragging about it, and telling other people they aren't doing anything glorious because they aren't following my sample in 'volunteer' work.
So, I just hate it when someone tries to glorify their own good deeds and make me feel ashamed for what I'm not doing. By those standards, I would never ever be good enough, which was a reason I left the cult anyway, I could never be good enough for God, it was never enough and there's no end to trying to be 'good'.

YOu talk about freedom, that is the issue here. Yet you dont believe that people in The Family group have a right to enjoy the freedom of religion.
Who is telling you to go be a missionary? Not me.
I am just defending the rights of people who choose to do so, and stand against those who fight against that right.

OK, let's talk about rights--
Did I NOT have the right to be properly educated?
Did I NOT have the right to choose my own career in life?
Did I NOT have the right to believe as I see fit?
Did I NOT have the right to talk back to my 'elders', to not be punished for wanting to see some silly movie, to want to spend a day goofing off, to paint my nails and wear makeup?
Did I NOT have the right to go out on dates with a guy I had a crush on, and NO, not the 1-hour date in the basement bedroom on the bed.
Did I NOT have the right to freely visit my grandparents, mother and relatives who were not in the cult?
No, I didn't have those rights. The cult took them away and kept me under the lock and key of religious control.
I believe in freedom.
