You can become obsessed with what you eat and don't eat. My theory is everything in moderation is ok. Follow a sensible eating plan with lots of fruit and veges, fish and lean meat, with smaller amounts of nuts and seeds. The key is regular and I mean regular exercise. Walking is great. And then forget about it. Get on with life and the weight loss will happen naturally. Its a well known fact that diets make you fat! To maintain weight, calories taken in must be the same as energy output, its as simple as that. If you want to LOSE weight, then calories taken in must be less than energy output. Follow that and you can't go wrong. But you must be patient. Keep in mind the weight took a few years to increase it will take time to come off. That's why it has to be a lifestyle change and not a diet.
