Porceleindoll and Moonshiner, I'd be interested in your thoughts on my wife's new experiments with different juices. This morning she made us each two cupfuls of juice for breakfast, using:
3 apples, 5 medium carrots, 2 oranges, 1 celery stick, 1 tsp ginger and a handful of parsley. It tasted delicious and was very filling.
She's mainly interested in their anti-oxident value. It beats "cleansing" our blood by super expensive medical means, and it's far more natural.
She's also thinking of going on this kind of a juice fast to get at the stubborn leftover baby fat. Any thoughts?
By the way, anyone who's not juicing, you can start out by picking up a second-hand juicer at a thrift store for almost nothing, then buying bulk veggies and fruits at a reduced price. For e.g. my wife buys green apples that aren't sweet enough to eat as is, but which are just great when juiced. As Moonshiner said, carrots add all kinds of sweetness anyway.
