I really don't know why anyone is surprised that the Family in Australia (or anywhere else for that matter) could scam the government. They've been doing it for years with Social Security and childcare payments. Just cause they've discovered a new cash cow everyone is surprised? I know for a fact that some members here were still collecting a carer's payment for a disabled member after they put her in a nursing home. Nice one eh?
You see, in Australia at the moment, as in America, Christian groups are able to put in tenders for all kinds of Govt funded activities such as pregnancy counselling due to the overlap of church and state that is currently the climate here with our right wing Christian government. It is no stretch for me to believe that Paul and Joy are the beneficiaries of some of those spoils. I have no documented proof as yet and I am at the mercy of the person who told me about this for that proof. I have asked them to provide me with details and hard facts. However, if they do not, I still believe that there is truth in the tale even if the details may be lacking. I have found from experience that ex sg's do not make things up. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on that one. I have not slandered anyone and if Paul and Joy want to come on this board and clear the matter up they are welcome. I work for an Arts Organisation where we apply for and receive Govt grants all the time. Its not that difficult. Like I said, Paul and Joy, speak for yourselves if you dare.
