my second husband and I met in TF and we left together. Both of us were so hurt by the free love doctrines of Berg and TF that we promised each other we would have nothing to do with it and we would belong only to each other. It was such a HUGE relief.
We certainly saw the other side of life, the all things tree BS, the one wife lifestyle and it was ugly. The ones who suffered the most were the children. How were they supposed to understand all the crap the adults were doing? All they knew is that daddy was suddenly gone or they were suddenly taken away from mommy. I know my oldest daughter has suffered the most from not having a father influence in her life and I will never forgive my first husband for the pain he caused his own children because of his selfishness and wanting to be a don amongst all TF women. He forced me into a 3-some which I warned him would break apart our family. I thought that if he loved his children, that would stop him, but it didn't.
Dr. Laura said something the other day that really struck home to me, she said: "It's amazing to me how selfish adults can be when they get horny." It's so true, no one was thinking about the kids and how all the sharing nights, FFing, spouse swapping and breaking up families was hurting the children.
