Hello Susie,
While you may be right about past feeling of not being "with it" concerning having "faith" and looking bad in front of other family folks. Those days are gone now. The final decision is made entirely by the person involved. The same as parents having the final decision on medical matters concerning their children. It may be hard to imagine, but yes it's definitely in the charter now and must be adhered to.
