I left the Family long ago and before there were camps and sexual sharing schedules. Nevertheless I know my children suffered abuse because the group way back then had already introduced the first Davidito letters and it was easy to see what Berg was practicing would be introduced to them later down the line and was already going on at some levels. That is why I left!
That and so many other accumulating losses and abuses. Even though I felt like God could kill me I'd rather have SATAN or no god than the goddamn FAmily's god.
Here's a short list of some that were occurring back then way before I "left" the FAmily:
1. Separating children from parents.
Though this varied in length and in the early days many "schools" were safe for kids as far as sexual abuse went, children were ripped from parents sometimes without their permission. Schools often had disciplinarians that were far too harsh. (talking early days here and NOT CAMP DAYS where it was clearly torture from accounts I have read.)
2. Destruction of the nuclear Family unit.
Kids and parents learned that THE Family was first. Not their family.
3. ALL THIS WAS DONE IN THE NAME OF GOD
SPIRTUALITY WAS DESTROYED
in many because of the association of "love" and "god" or "jesus" being associated to a child is not worth as much as the cause. Neither was anyone for that matter. Later added to that would be God= rape, pedophilia and torture.
4. Parents did not follow their own values but adopted the values of the cult and that harmed their children AND themselves.
5. THERE WAS NO PROTECTION FROM THESE ABUSES FOR MEMBERS OF THE CULT because these abuses were FAMILY DOCTRINE and SANCTIONED and INITIATED by its leaders.
That is a short list and only from the earlier pre-camp and pre "uncle and aunty" days.
You left because of the LJR. That bothered you but why do you belittle people that want justice for so much more than pedophilia which by itself is more than enough?
Some will choose to follow different venues to restore their lives or for youth, to build their lives for the first time independent of the cult.
That is their business but why belittle people for pursuing justice?
I watched "Miami Animal Cops" on TV this morning and there was more concern for abused dogs.. There should be. People get arrested for that.
