Dear Mr. Boobola, thank you for appreciating my posts. :-)
No, sorry, not a member of the family anymore for 8 years. But contrary to you, I really don’t care if the family is dismantled, prosperous, declining, abounding, abasing – whatever. They can do what they want, I really could care less. I don’t really think they are any more criminal than society as a whole. Take them on - take on the world! I still have a few friends there, whose choices I accept. Like the man I talked about, they’re decent chaps and just doing the best they can.

I think this extreme “let’s destroy, dismantle, expose this association of child-abusers” position is somewhat of an US phenomena, maybe Britain too. Ex-members in South America, Europe and Asia are in general (there are exceptions) less noisy, not piping into this chorus, which in itself almost sounds like a cult too and reminds me at times of a kangaroo court. Personally, I think the Family will perhaps come to its natural end, no external help needed, as their utopian ideals will prove unattainable, their support will crumble and their prophesies will fail. Membership will continue to decline, there may be a core group of diehards around the top leadership who will keep on going with the help of some of their more influential friends, much like the Rajneesh or Guru Mahardji movements. I have no faith in court cases, class action or criminal, I think these are dead end streets. First of all, I don’t think there is much compensation to be gotten. They’re definitely not rich. Yeah, Peter may keep a couple of millions (max) somewhere for hard times and a rainy day, but what is that divided by thousands of ex-members minus the court and lawyer costs? Think about it!

What’s my bias? I usually don’t get involved batting for either side, but when I hear something that is outrageously wrong (on either side) I do pipe up and try to set the record straight. I honestly believe that it is not to our credit to spread biased and incorrect information to achieve whatever ends. It’ll always backfire. The end definitely doesn’t justify the means, at least as far as I’m concerned. This particular case went quite against my grain, since I was personally involved and know the facts stated to be not true and much in need of explanation. At least for those interested in the true story and a balanced picture. But perhaps it rattles your cage less if you just ignore anything that will not fit into your paradigm of what you believe the Family to be or not to be. I don't know. Either way, be my guest and suit yourself. I just did what I had to.
