I know that when I started seeing a therapist, she raised her eyebrows at some of the medicine that had been prescribed to me. Some she totally discouraged me from taking at all. I'm really much better off without it.
Having said that, however, I do also understand there are certain cases where medication is of the utmost importance to a person's well-being. but this must be under expert care and not with the flip of a wrist from a general practioner who thinks all his customers want a happy pill. Not all doctors are bad - lives have been saved countless times by excellent doctors. But one must remember that they are "practicing" physicians and do have their shortcomings.
