my mom told me that very thing when I was a little girl. I was also told it was started by Jewish businessmen who wanted to blot out the Christ in - ahem - xmas. So, the ugly prejudices weren't just with Berg, they have been ingrained in our society for many, many years and it should give one the ability to appreciate just how much Jewish people have suffered, even here in the U.S. And also why they are are so against anything related to Christianity. christianity, as a religion, has been hard on them.
Only now am I learning about the real meaning (or so we think) the X is or why it was started. Oh well, who cares anyway.
