but the basic principle is true beyond politics and what I was thinking when I wrote the above post. If we can transport that principle to the famly, the rich countries are the WS and other such units while the poor countries are those of the regular colonies.
I know somepeople have stated that they didn't get an allowence while they worked in a WS home. In my experience, only at the beginning of it there was none but when I left in the early 80s I would get a certain amount for each one of us in our family to have as pocket money during our weekly 'free day'. And it was so whether we had spent the previous week's money or not.
On the other hand, a field colony typically could not or can affort such luxury.
Now imagine that the work these priviledged WS citizens are doing is outsourced to field colonies and as a result the Central Prophecy Command Control decides to send them 50% of the allowance normally going to the WS person who had been doing it before.
Now the WS citizen gets a pay cut and suffers. Poor soul. The home is still rich but the individual has less spending money. So, in this sense the individual suffers and sees the outsourcing of labor as a bad thing. On the other hand, the poor citizen who is receiving work sees the localized globalization as a good thing.
I guess it is a matter of perspectives. If TFI decides to share the wealth not just with the WS upper class but with the low ranks, they might have a riot in the making.
