That's a very good idea, Researcher. I would hope Stephen responds and it would be great if Jane Miller Berg could write a book but then that would compromise her current ministry where she is "grandma" and gives advice on parenting and being a good dad.
Perhaps if she came clean with the truth about Berg and what she did in following his lead as well as how she got away from it, IF she did, she could have an even more effective ministry?
After all, it is a matter of time before people of the congregations where she hangs out get wind of the roots of "the family" past.
Dissociating herself from that past and telling the truth about it would be a tremendous testimony.
I remember watching some shows on the same "Christian" TV channel that the Star Family have programs on and seeing "The Family" in the 90's as they were having youth do the box skit, etc., singing classic family songs, even called themselves "The Family". Also, "The Star Family" was the name used by S&A when they were still in the Family and sort of doing their own thing but still supported financially.
It would do them a lot of good to make a clear separation from TFI, Maria and Peter. Something is silencing them. They can't escape their past anymore with the Internet and access to the sites.
I can't think of anything more degrading to survivors of abuse who see JMB speak of berg, even though she does not name him, and glorify what a good daddy he was.
I do believe in supporting people who are able to break away and start a new life, but if a person was high profile then, it is only to be expected that now they will have a place in the history of "COG, TF, TFI etc." And by not telling the truth of that past, even promoting Berg as the good Dad, something to role model raising children from, they are a ministry on a collision course.
