In several letters Berg described how he 'prayed souls out of hell' and built a theology of how people can get saved after they die. Berg was aware that this was also a Mormon doctrine. In "New Revelations!" (letter 1900), he stated:
42. Even the Mormons believe you can get saved after you die! They believe that if you get baptised in the Mormon Temple for your relatives that they're definitely going to get saved, & if you get married in a Mormon Temple, you're definitely going to be married forever!
43. Well, I'd make a good Mormon because I've married a lot of wives & I expect to be married to them forever!
