Thanks. I re-read David Berg's 1967 diary from ML 1728 (which Researcher posted excepts from and which is availble at http://www.exfamily.org/pubs/ml/b5/ml1728.shtml ) and according to that Paul Berg married Sarah on November 26, 1967. In the November 18 entry, there is also a reference to Mary Glassford, Sarah's mother accompanying Paul and Sarah to get a marriage license and blood test (presumably in Dallas, Texas).
Since Sarah was reportedly 15 years old at the time, it would be interesting to find out if or how Texas law regarding the marriage of minors has changed since 1967. Current Texas law allows 16 and 17 year olds to marry with parental permission but those under 16 must have a court order. I don't know if (as in other states) pregnancy is a factor in allowing underage children to get married in Texas but it may have been because, according to the Lefkowitz report, at the time Sarah mistakenly believed she was pregnant.
