I think this whole discussion of unseen abuse behind closed doors is an important one, which is why I moved the post that had been posted above Natalie's question.
The principal testimony we have now of the abuse is the voices of the SGs who finally are speaking out. Some of them tried to speak out as kids too but were silenced. I read in the past few days about SGs who said that when they did report abuse, they were punished or beaten for speaking up.
