Let me get this straight as this is the first time I actually read the piece:
1) The "poor guys" have this really unpleasant duty of having to be out at night catching a very young girl who tries to escape.
2) The very very young girl who's about to become meat for the lions may as well be meat for the "poor guys."
3) She shouldn't even look like she is suffering. Heck, what's a little (fuck) rape between friends, old Berg has previously stated.
Here is part of the definition of sex crimes from the California Penal Code on rape.
"Where the act is accomplished against a person's will by means of force, violence, DURESS (my emphasis)...
a. Duress: A direct or implied threat of force, violence, danger, hardship,, or retribution sufficient to coerce a reasonable person of ordinary susceptibility (liable to be affected by something) to perform an act which otherwise would not have been performed, or acquiesce in an act to which one would not have submitted."
I know what a woman feels like when raped, as most of my sexual experience in TF has been just that, rape. On a more positive note, I have never experienced rape since I was able to leave such a loving and Christian organization.
My question for any men who would like to be open to a dialogue is the following: do you remember any episodes of rape? Would you classify some of what used to be termed "sharing" as rape today? Would you consider the term "under duress" applicable in any experiences you have had or known of? Is any of this unpleasant for you today?
I don't belong to the group who gets nostalgic about what was good in Berg's world. I noticed that every time the subject of rape comes up on these boards there is a lot of silence. Where are the enthusiastic predators I used to meet? Is it possible they are never around on boards, or not known by any guys who read and post on boards, even just friends or buddies? For a culture where Berg preached rape, (ever since The Devil Hates Sex, 1980) there had to be some raping and some rapists. Where are they?
And for the poster who argued it is his impression that women on this board are the ones who ask more questions, tough questions, I'd like to propose that perhaps that could be the adaptive result of prolonged exposure to rape and forced parenthood.
I welcome different viewpoints, and am curious to hear them.
