goth, i honestly cannot make any sense out of the first paragraph here. maybe it is about a post i didn't read. i'll have to skip it tho, as i do not understand it.
the "talk shows"`reference was to "society" in general, ie things like hannity, orielly, limbaugh, or on the other side bill maher etc. my opinion is that society grows more divided by these "pep rallies" for the likeminded... ideas ridiculed and dismissed etc. instead of engaging in any real attempt at dialog. my comparison was that if some opportunity arises to talk with someone from a completely different mindset arises, it is very difficult in an atmosphere where the person who holds an opposing veiwpoint percieves the response as an attack... as is most likely to be the case of a fam mem in the light of his posted position. i realize that exmems here are well w/in their rights to say whatever they like...i was merely musing that it might be nice if there WERE a venue where a less strident atmosphere might prevail. obviously... this space is NOT it.
i have to say tho that i do not think of this place as anything like NA.. do you really think that there are folks here in danger of "relapsing".. not a big temptation that i've noticed... but i may be wrong .. "take it easy"...
