John, You'll find that by posting here you're gonna get a whole lot of different, and maybe even conflicting opinions. That's great! 'Cause if you think of this from so many different angles and places from which so many others are coming from, I believe you'll see that your queries are pretty much unanswerable by "Others", and yet answerable by "All". I joined the fam. after having sought out the "Truth" with a Buddhist cult, which was preceeded by months with the "Hare Krishna", which was all after a very devistating year (For me) in Viet Nam. And yet the True God that I was really seeking has led me and guided me thru it all! Read all the postings here that you can. Eat the meat and spit out the bones. And then, seek the Lord and your own heart, and trust Him to lead ya in the way He'd have ya go (Which will mor'n likly be accompanied with a whole lotta fears and doubts) He's the only One who knows the whole picture anyway!... Our God is a loving God, and will comfort your heart by His Spirit and with confirmations from His Word. And thru it all, just keep praisin' Him, weather ya feel like it or not, which I believe is the best way to run off all those demons f'in' with your head. God will bless your heart for your concern. Trust Him! We'll pray for ya.
