Well, maybe that's right, but such an attitude can also be a cop-out from critically reflecting on what members of your family are doing.
you can't have it both ways. If you're going to seek out the spotlight, as many of your family deliberately choose to do, then they have to accept that they will experience some scrutiny. Ex-members are a critical lot, mainly because we suffered so horribly when we abdicated our right to think critically. Many also have a strong desire to do things ethically, again largely because we have seen the disasterous results of ignoring the ethical components of choices.
So if LM family members are going to stick their necks out and position themselves as being on the moral high ground in some way, then they should be prepared for some scrutiny.
My feelings are that this is healthy. We all need accountability and checks and balances.
But it's not so much about the people as the behaviour. A lot of people give your family credit for going on DP and facilitating a media event that exposed TF. However, the good will they garnered for that has been squandered in many people's eyes by the incredibly inaapropraite and possibly very harmful posts they made today on several web sites.
Well, it's all been said before. But the seeming inability of some of the LM family to critically analyse some of this highly questionable behaviour is disturbibg and worrisome to people like me. It seems to me that you are clannish in nature, that you adhere loosely to a "My family, my family, right or wrong, my family" mindset. And again, I find that worrisome. Like you, I have been down that road before.
Well, these are some thoughts. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on some of these posts made by John Jr and Jim today.
