There are many anecdotes and parables regarding the subject of faith scattered through TF's publications. The punch line to some of those stories is some version of: "I know [fill in blank] doesn't exist because I've never seen it." Of course, the implied message had to do with just accepting things on faith alone. How ironic, then, for Family members (and even some former members) to continue to insist that abuse never happened in TF because they never witnessed it. They remind me of the country hick in one of Berg's stories who didn't believe giraffes exist because he never saw one.
