Interesting show. It seems that apart from the expose component of TF, Dr Phil was exploring the relationship, or lack of, between Kristi and Jim. And that Jim 's efforts at advocating against the group were self serving and self-agrandizing. He uses people, including his daughter, to further his own agenda.
Then on the San Diego piece, it seemed that they still harped on the cuase of exposing TF, and what a success Dr Phil show was.
I picked up on the "she's getting counseling" comment too. The point that Dr Phil made was that Jim needed help as well, but he refuses it for whatever reason. So his comment about Kristi getting counseling came across as extremely patronizzing. He does not seem to have gotton the point.
Jim still seems to be on a self-serving crusade, using anyone, including his daughter, to further it.
Well, that's what I got out of the two shows. If Dr Phil had said the stuff to me that he said to Jim about his relationship with his daughter, I would have been devastated.
I admire people's efforts to work against TF, but not if it revictimises people, and not if it lacks integrity. We must not do evil that good may come.
