I think you got the problem down in a nutshell. I think you are very observant and I think you have excellent critical thinking skills. In fact, I believe most of the exers I have come across do have good critical thinking skills and because one choses a different political persuasion than another does not mean they are still in some sort of cult mentality and need exercises in critical thinking. Mostly, I think, being in TF we suspended our critical thinking skills, and then when we left, we referred to our pre-cult days and resumed those skills that we had suspended. Of course, there are those still googly-eyed over TF, even though they have left, simply because they are in denial and cannot fathom their huge mistake. That's a whole different enchilada there.
As for the SGs, well, they are amazing. Here we have a whole set of offspring who never had an opportunity to think freely, yet they rose out of that mire and broke free from the mental prison. If you ask me, that takes some incredible critical thinking to be able to do that. I only applaud such reasoning capabilities.
I hope you don't stop coming around because I think you are refreshing (disclaimer - I have no idea who you are, nor do I care to know). I, personally, enjoy posting at xFamily because everyone is who they say they are. One has to register and use that name when you post. I believe it is the same at MovingOn. Of course, I think you can still post as a guest, but most it seems just use the handle they originally chose. I think it saves a lot of trouble down the road. I long since abandoned the practice of using different handles. I saw the end result as not a good idea. Maybe I was thinking critically ;)
