In my 15+ years in the Family in many different countries, I never saw individual Family members act or talk in a racist way against Blacks. Yet Berg's Letters were full of it, saying the Blacks were better off as slaves in the South, that they had been cursed & turned black etc. He made some very strong racist statements that ordinarily you see coming from someone of KKK mentality. I believe that that part of Family beliefs needs to be preserved as history if nothing else.
There have been many other racist/biased doctrines that HAVE, unfortunately, been more pervasive worldviews in the Family, influencing how Family members thought and acted. The first e.g. is the anti-Semitism you cited. A second e.g. is the Vandari doctrine, that those who leave the Family are apostate, backslidden demons dripping blood. These two doctrines have been fully integrated into the Family's belief system & been acted upon.
