A lot of people have a lust for power. Isn't an strong desire for power the basic force underlying political leadership? I'm not sure that's a pathology, although it is surely a character trait that lends itself to evil as well as good.
This is really the problem at the heart of defining "personality disorder" as a form of mental illness. Is the person mad or just very bad? Or maybe some combination of the two? I personally believe that narcissistic character pathologies such as Zerby & Berg exhibit involve a sickness of the spirit as well as of the brain.
