Perhaps you didn't bother to read the story Mr. Don, or maybe it's just that it doesn't fit with your political perspective. I just don't see how it's possible to separate the politics out of this disaster. When elected officials charged with the safety and well-being of their constituents negligently fail in their duties they should be held accountable. Sure it was a powerful hurricane, but they've always known it was only a matter of time before one hit again. Yet instead of spending the necessary money to fix the problem of subsiding levees, the Bush administration diverted money meant for that purpose to the war. That was a political decision which had direct repurcussions on those affected by hurricane Katrina.
