There were many ex-members speaking out about Scientology and getting lots of attn. Also, CAN was focusing on Scientology at the time. The result was that shortly after, CAN got inundated with law suits and didn't have the funds to sustain the fight. That is Scientology's tactic. Using courts with large amounts of money to sue and put people in litigation until they can't keep up.
