I do not read that line as suggesting anything about Jules, but it certainly implies he thinks some ex-members have lied or exaggerated. But that is simply factual, and further it has little bearing on those who tell the truth (and they are legion).

I agree with this criticism of Chancellor, but not based solely on that line or his email.
