May I suggest that the reason you "fail to see what was so bad about Chancellor's email" is because you haven't walked in Jules' shoes? Perhaps by exercising a little empathy you might, just might, begin to see why what Chancellor wrote affected Jules so profoundly.
Btw, I agree that ad hominem attacks on Chancellor are a waste of time and energy. Since Chancellor considers his book the pinnacle of his career and the ultimate authority on TF, the best way to attack him is to challenge all of the many errors, omissions, assumptions and conclusions he makes in it. There are many formal and informal ways that can be done, and I highly recommend that anyone with a stake in this should read the book, note their objections as they read it (I guarantee they will have many) and then consider the ways in which they can publicly speak out so that his book does not sit as the final word.
