You keep talking over and over again about choice and responsibility. I have made my position clear. I am not really sure what yours is but it seems to be collective generalized responsibility and a cult or abusive situation is a choice a person makes.
I don't believe it is that cut and dried. I also believe there are reams of papers written on the subject of domestic abuse which is the closest parallel to cult membership and in fact Berg and most cult leaders are much the same as manipulators of a smaller instance (domestic abuse atmosphere such as in "The Burning Bed) or a larger one as exists in a highly controlled cult.
What are you trying to do, get a group consensus on what responsibility is for everybody in a
"collective sense" and designate who fits what criteria for which level?
Otherwise I don't get your point.
I would not compare a person who grows up in poverty and needs a pencil and paper for school to someone in a cult when it comes to choice.
