Hi Perry, I could go over your post and we could start a you said, no I didn't mean it how you understood it type debate. Having had the day I had yesterday, with more to come I can't honestly be bothered to try and convince someone that I am right. It's not really my style.
All I'll say is I didn't say cannabis use causes mental health problems - as far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on that. However, it has either triggered or contributed to them in people I have worked with.
Yes, I do work with those who are at the severe end of the substance misuse/mental health problem scale and I have worked with this client group for 11 years plus, I am considered 'lead clinician' for this in a very large mental health provider.
Many of those I work with do not use bongs, they do not have access to different varieties, they use tobacco to smoke - they don't make brownies and they suffer.
If you re-read the post you will see that I mentioned the research trials which appear to be having positive results - but this to me is a different matter than those who are troubled using an illegal substance [where I am it is definately illegal, dealing can result in a 7yr prison sentence] that my own professional experience shows me can be harmful to those vulnerable to harm.
Other than that Perry, you won't convince me, I have seen too many sad and damaged people. I respect your right to your view point, shall we agree to differ and say isn't it great that we live in a world where one can differ and still respect the other?
Best wishes
Yvonne
