There is the feminine equivalent for a woman and it is not in relation to accomplishment but rather to age and stance/position in a group (family, socials, etc.) It is by extension that the Don is assigned to Carleone andother alike. I would never call don to a younger person but most likely a young person might call me don. (Yes, we are all reaching that age).
