Q. Why do you speak English when you're Japanese? Don't they teach Japanese?
A1. We try to overcome the frame of mind that speaking only the language of our island country, Japanese, is sufficient, and are trying to put an effort into our English schooling so that we can soar out into the world with the vision of being a missionary. Becoming bilingual is not an easy task and is a great challenge both to those that are teaching and those that are learning.
A2 We've heard that Japan's English capacity is quite behind in comparison to other Asian countries. It is a fact that there are currently very few young people who can communicate in English and that the Japanese government recognized the importance of teaching the youth and children English. Having been aware of this fact from many years back, we've been putting an effort in our childrenfs English schooling. Wefve also created a special Japanese curriculum so as not to fall behind in our Japanese studies, and are constantly striving to raise bilingual children.
*so we can "SOAR OUT INTO THIS WORLD"?????
