It is very painful to be in transition..that space between stepping from the pain of the past, or through it, in stages, and into your future at the same time.
My hope for you is that you hang in there because your future lies ahead of you and there are many years to fill with good experiences even if that means creating family of choice. (As in the case where some parents or siblings may never leave the cult).
It would be naive to say "the past is the past" but I just hope you capitalize on building your future now because you deserve to have comfort, all you can get in your future and as much as is possible in the present.
What is life like for you now? I appreciate hearing your perspectives.
