I agree with you, she liked the trimmings after all. She put up with stuff because it paid off for her, so in the end, she became part of the abuse and is in major denial like the rest of them. She liked the young man she could have, the power she could have, splitting families apart and the like, the secured income of the monthly stipend, etc. IT worked for her and from what I've seen and heard about her, it's like she's a shell of a woman with no soul.
