From an SGA Foster Mom to Jim LaMattery

I am the foster mom of an SGA who experienced severe abuse growing up in TF. I have spiritually and emotionally adopted my foster daughter over a period of the last 18 months and am committed to personally looking out for her interests. I feel FIERCELY protective toward her, and I am concerned that Mr. LaMattery has acted in an insensitive and intimidating manner where my daughter is concerned.
My adopted daughter has recently been in communication with Mr. LaMattery regarding the FBI investigation. She is an educated young woman who has enjoyed significant career success. Despite her many strengths, my daughter grew up with a great deal of intimidation and manipulation by older adults, and it is very easy to make her feel threatened and anxious.
She just called me up in a panic because she felt unduly pressured by Mr. LaMattery about providing him information about her FBI affadavit. She felt especially upset because Mr. LaMattery wouldn't explain his aims and objectives to her in a satisfactory manner. Although she has made a statement to the FBI, she does not understand how Mr. LaMattery plans to use her story and other information he demanded from her. My daughter has been exploited enough for one lifetime; it is unethical to use her story to further an agenda that Mr. LaMattery has yet to fully explain to his many supporters.
Mr. LaMattery, please consider the possibility that you are offending and alienating people like my daughter with an abrasive, bull-in-the-china-shop personal style. Does it show integrity of character on your part when your daughter sweeps up behind you with excuses for your behavior? Shouldn't you take personal responsibility for butting your bullhead into the sensitive nervous system of an abuse survivor with your impatient demands for information?
If you are a Christian man, I ask you to please pray for greater wisdom and a gentler, more patient Spirit to guide you in your endeavors
