I agree with you. It would be much easier all around if Jim would answer some basic questions that are not frivilous or unnecessary. By doing so, he could probably stop a lot of fears and get a lot more people involved.
True we can bypass him, but it is a wider issue than that, as he is soliciting donations and other things.
He has used the boards to garner support, and I don't think it is inappropriate to ask him questions on them.
Here are the questions I have for Jim. I'm not trying to waste anyone's time here, but I think they are important and I don't think they have been answered yet. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
1. Do any of the LaMattery family involved in this advocacy have any plans to personally profit financially or otherwise from advocating against The Family?
(As someone pointed out, profiting from their efforts is not necessarily a bad thing. But if it is the case, it seems like the ethical thing to do would be to say so.)
2. What policies and procedures has LaMattery Resources developed to address vitally important issues of privacy and confidentiality of individuals who send them affidavits, etc?
(Some related questions include: Can you describe the procedure of how you handle affidavits. Who opens the mail? Who reads them? Do you copy them for your personal files before passing them on to the FBI? How are any filed affidavits stored? Who has access to them? Who authorises access to the files? Under what circumstances would LaMattery Resources use the information in these affidavits for any other purpose than assisting the FBI in their investigation? Would LaMattery Resources ever tell someone’s story without their express permission?)
3. Concerning donations received by the J. LaMattery Fund: Specifically, what will the money be used for? Who decides how it will be spent? Will there be any accountability to the public or donors on how that money is spent?
I don't expect an answer on this site, but I'm sure Jim will read this and maybe he will post some sort of material on his site that deals with this. At least he'll understand some of our concerns. That would be great.
