I have nothing personally against Jim LaMattery, and my statement was not intended to disparage his integrity as an intermediary. As a matter of principle, I try to eliminate as many links in the line of communication as possible. If I have something to say to law enforcement, I talk directly to law enforcement. Regardless of how good the intermediary, working with a go-between increases the chance of misinformation and misunderstanding.
