I read Jim's post re: no longer posting on the exer boards after 3/15/05 and was really surprised to see him continuing to post about the FBI investigation, particularly after NDN asked him to back off. So I am wondering if it is indeed Jim who is posting.
With regard to this particular post requesting submission of Ditto Books to the FBI, Jim gives no explanation as to why the FBI would want or need every copy it can get its hands on. Why isn't one copy of this text enough for the FBI to build its case? Why is getting as many copies as possible "extremely necessary" to the investigation?
Quite frankly, I'd be extremely reluctant to turn over my copy (if I owned one) to to the FBI without any prior verbal or written communication with the agents handling the investigation. These books may very well constitute child pornography under US laws. I'd want an assurance of immunity from the FBI if I was planning to admit to law enforcement that I owned a copy. And I wouldn't want someone else (e.g., Jim LaMattery) acting as my go-between with the agents on a matter as important as immunity from prosecution.
An obvious solution to the confusion being generated by the "Jim LaMattery" posts on NDN is for the real Jim to post a response to questions being raised by the online exer community on his own website.
