It doesn't matter what people here or there say, only what the goal of this initiative is, had been, will be. Jim LaMattery has stated that he is after those who molested his people. I take that to mean that everything else will have to go about their own problems. I am not sure how much piggybacking can or will he allow on his dime. If he does, more power to him but all in all those who try to do that had better realize that this is his show and with a very clearly defined goal.
If you think he is there for you, and he might, you better get reassurance from him before forking that river. If it were me, I would also get it in writing. Not that I think he is doing something wrong but because getting things in writing is the right thing to do, as it is asking for answer --even from hard questions-- to those who seek your support.
