Shulamite may be eccentric and no, I didn't miss her focusing on the spiritual aspects of things, but you assume that this means that Shulamite has not done everything medically and physically and psychologically and financially possible to help her daughter up till this time.
That is an assumption and I believe it's a wrong one. Just because someone is (very) religious like Shulamite doesn't mean she hasn't cried herself to sleep at night over the state the Family left her daughter. I suspect her emphasis on religious issues now is because she is a desperate mother at the end of her understanding, having tried everything she could think of with rehab, psychology, etc. and now there's nothing left. Nothing worked.
In this criticism of Shulamite's letter, don't lose sighe of the main facts. Shalamite is not the 'bad person' here. Shulamite's daughter was STOLEN from her by Mother Eve, Shulamite's daughter was ABUSED by David Berg and Maria, BEATEN by Peter Amsterdam and others and driven to where she is now by Family members. Hosea David was in charge of the Macau prison where she was dringto the edge of sanity. Then Mene was sent to live with Family-loving Eve, then ended up with her aunt Deborah for years, and finally reunited with Shulamite after years and years.
Shulamite has done all she can for her daughter. But she was given the wreckage when the Family was done with Mene. Let's save the main part of our criticism for who REALLY deserves it.
