I don't have personal knowledge about this, but my guess is that it was probably connected to "persecution" TF was experiencing and Berg threatened to stop supporting her if she didn't go public to defend him and TF. This document proves she received (receives?) "blood-money" to keep quiet and cover up abuses she surely must have known about.
Notice her repeated emphasis on "rescuing" youth from alcohol and drugs, and how she holds up her four children as being “crusaders for clean living” because they did not smoke or drink. Maybe they didn’t smoke, but I know for a fact that Ho (Jonathan) drank a lot (wine was very cheap in the former Portuguese colony), and they were abusive power-mongers just like their dad. What an outrageously hypocritical, untruthful document. Berg “confessed” to his alcoholism, many years before she swore this affidavit. His alcoholism was extreme, was the direct cause of much abuse in TF, and continued long after his so-called “confession.”
And it’s pretty disgusting that she would hold up Ho’s compound in Macau, site of some of the worst atrocities committed against youth in TF, as an “endeavor to help misguided youth to a happy and purposeful life.”
