If you got the message that someone was already registered with that password, then it means your old account is still active.
Are you sure you correctly remember which email address you had your account set up with? Because it's possible that the email address you used to set up your account is no longer live, and therefore, you're not getting emails that have your password mailed to you.
My suggestion if you're still having problems is to do one of two things:
1) Write to the admin and ask them to help you sort it out (this is Tim R, not Jules)
or
2) Simply set up a new account.
Best of luck on that. I imagine you're frustrated, but it can't be that difficult, over 2,500 people have done it and in all of those, the only person I am currently aware of who was ever blocked from accessing the site and posting there was a second generation ex-member who lauded Berg's views on adult-child sexual contact.
